Joan (John) Bischoff van Heemskerck serves on the Board of Directors as Town & Country's Executive Sales Manager for the North Fork and Shelter Island since 2009.
Deeply connected to the North Fork communities, Joan served as President of the North Fork Promotion Council. His peers elected Joan as Realtor of the Year for 2017. He is immediate Past President of HANFRA (Hamptons and North Fork Realtors Association). He served on the NYSAR (New York State Association of Realtors) Communications, Marketing & Technology Forum Legislative Policy Forum, Multiple Listing Issues & Policies Committee, Professional Standards Committee and Second-home, Resort & Global Markets Committee. Joan is a licensed Real Estate Instructor.
Joan earned a Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from Touro Law School and a Masters in Business Administration in International Marketing. He grew up in Wassenaar, the Netherlands, in the countryside surrounding The Hague. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, German and Dutch, Joan is equally at home in his native country, the Netherlands, Europe, Latin America as here on the East End, since 1985.
